Storage Tips

Most of our customers are  not full time residents in Arizona. Typically they are only here a few months out of the year, leaving their golf cart sitting for long periods of time. These long periods of being unused can be very difficult on the batteries and often cause the golf car not to start when they return.

  • We typically recommend having a friend or family member help out by charging and checking water levels in the batteries at least once a month.
  • Purchase a "Battery Maintainer."  It works on several makes of vehicles and basically turns on to charge the battery pack when the voltage drops to a certain preset level, then turns off when full charge is attained.
    • Battery Maintainers generally run in the $220.00 price range. (Price subject to change and availability)

Maintenance Tips

Battery Care:

  1. Battery water level should never be allowed to fall below the top of the plates and should be filled only to the bottom of the slot with distilled water
  2. Please take care when filling with distilled water. Overfilling will allow the electrolytes to escape through the vents and will corrode unprotected metal and discolor concrete.
  3. Battery posts and cable connections should be cleaned, tightened, and be kept free from corrosion.
  4. Once a month washing of the battery compartment with a garden hose will usually keep dirt and corrosion off.
    • Note: this washing should NOT be done in your garage or driveway, as the acid will cause permanent stains on the concrete!!!

For the trouble-free use, we urge the owner to check the fallowing areas at least once a month

  • Tire Pressure – 25lbs P.S.I. approximate - it will be listed on the side of the tire.
  • Proper battery water level
  • Wash battery compartment
  • Lubricate speed control contacts (not all makes)

For Your safety, when leaving the vehicle unattended, be sure the key is turned to the OFF position and the Forward/Reverse selector is in NEUTRAL.
